Are universal mats right for your car?

Often we are asked: "Will Posh Pile mats really fit my car?” or “I don’t want a universal mat. I need a direct fit mat.” Here is real exchange between Tom, the creator of Posh Pile, and “Mr. J” From Singapore that ended in a satisfied Audi A4 owner with beautiful Posh Pile 5th Avenue mats who was able to buy his mats at Autobacs and save considerable money over direct fit mats.

Dear Mr. J:

Our universal mats will fit your A4 perfectly and save you a lot of money over a direct fit mat. Sorry that our form does not answer this but: what country are you in? Thank you for taking the time to contact us.  [Note: We have since improved this form thanks to Mr. J.]

Kindest regards,

Hi Tom, I am from Singapore. I called up the contact listed in the website and found out the car mats are generic and not model specific. So I decided not to purchase the car mat anymore. Thanks for responding.

Hi Mr. J:

We actually have measured over 300 of the most popular cars (Audi A4 among them) and our universal mats fit the cars we spec perfectly. And we honestly tell car owners when our mats will not fit their cars. We have decided only to make direct fit mats for those cars (BMW 3, 5, 7 series, Mercedes E and S class, Golf Mark 6, Mini, Nisan GTR) that our universal mats will not fit. We are publishing a fitting guide within 2 weeks.  [Note: It will come out Monday!]

If you try our 5th Avenue mat and it does not fit your Audi to your satisfaction, I will gladly refund your money.  Direct fit mats if made well, cost more to make than similar universal mats, so we decided to be different and completely honest with consumers and pass along the  30-80% savings.

Thanks for your email, It also helped me alert our web guy that we needed a field that told us what country the inquiry was coming from.

Kindest regards,

Tom Muldowney

Ok, I am keen to try a set of grey 5th avenue for my 2010 A4. Can I get it from the distributor in Singapore? What is the price?

Hi Mr. J:

That is great news! You will not be disappointed. You can buy the grey 5Th Avenue mats from Hypercoat our distribution partner. I do know you can also buy 5TH Avenue in Giant, Autobacs, and Carrefour. The retail price for 5th Avenue is S$100.80.Send me a photo of how 5th Avenue looks in your Audi and I’ll send you a couple of Posh Pile baseball caps.

Poshest regards,

          Tom
